Former Cop Charged with Counterfeiting Due to Confusion Over Presidents

November 23rd, 2006 · No Comments

From this article it appears that Elli Tucker, an ex-cop, was found in possession of a counterfeit bill of such quality that it was able to pass the watermark test. The problem, the wrong president was on the bill. Whoever made this bill is one stupid criminal.

A recent article from the CBC shows why you may want to think twice about cash and the banking system. It seems that counterfeit bills may make their way through your local bank branch. The problem is that if you discover that the bill is fake, the bank may not reimburse you. Can you believe it, your local shopkeeper with technology less sophisticated than that available to the bank discovers your bill is bogus and the bank may not compensate you. Talk about big business looking out for itself.

The advice of a small shopkeeper seems wise “Don’t accept the $100 bill at the bank. Perhaps this way you will force the banks and the government to change how we print our money and how we put our money in circulation.”
