I cannot stand it anymore. Some criminals are to stupid to be allowed to continue living amongst the rest of us. This article from the Washington Post describes an incident where 19-year-old Devin K. Hoerauf’s who is charged with robbery accidentally dropped a bag of marijuana on the floor when he stood up at the defense table. To make it worse the defense lawyer was the mother of the accused. Her response in relation to her son and client:
“He is brain-damaged, your honor. I don’t mean he’s just a defendant who does dumb stuff. This is a boy with an IQ in triple digits. His brain is glued together with Silly Putty. He can’t think his way out of a paper bag, but he can do physics.”
I have seen this type of thing occur on several occasions. Accused taking dope to Court or to turn themselves in at the police station. Perhaps they do not expect that they will be searched when they turn themselves in or searched if they are sentenced to serve their sentence in jail. If you think this you are wrong. The only reason to take drugs to court or jail is to smuggle it into a correctional institution where it is worth substantially more than on the street. You will have to be more creative than putting it in your pocket.
