The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse published a study on December 19, 2006 that found that driving under the influence of marijuana and hashish has doubled since 1989 and that males drive under the influence of marijuana as often as they do under the influence of alcohol. It seems that those that consume marijuana also consume on average more alcohol than those that don’t use marijuana, thereby increasing the risk they pose to the public. According to the report men are also 3.6 times more likely to drive after smoking up than woman.
